Volunteering for Nature, People, and Wellbeing

At AL-MANSUR, volunteers play a key role in our journey toward sustainability and community. By joining us, you become part of a living project that takes care of 12 hectares of organic land, forests, animals, and shared spaces, all run with the aim of becoming 100% self‑sustained.

Here you can expect hands‑on work in the garden and orchards, with the animals, in maintenance, and in the communal kitchen: planting and harvesting, composting, feeding, repairing, cooking, and keeping common areas beautiful and welcoming for everyone. Each contribution, small or big, helps maintain the land, support new environmental projects, and create a healthy, joyful home for the whole community.

Start Your Journey Here

At AL-MANSUR you can apply through Worldpackers or WWOOF, or contact us directly if you prefer a more personal conversation. These platforms help us host volunteers from all over the world in a transparent way, with clear expectations about work, accommodation, and time of stay. However, every application is still read by us, and we always encourage a short message about who you are, why you’d like to come, and what you hope to learn and share here.

Everything you need to know before volunteering

This section gathers the most common questions from past volunteers so you can quickly understand how life and work are organized here.

Mornings are usually dedicated to hands‑on work in the garden, with the animals, or in maintenance, followed by shared meals and quieter activities in the afternoon. The rhythm follows the seasons, so tasks can change between planting, harvesting, pruning, or preparing firewood.

The usual stay is between 4 weeks and 2 months, with the possibility to extend if both sides feel it is a good match and there is space in the house. Longer stays often mean becoming more involved in projects and community responsibilities.

Yes. The garden, orchards, and vineyards are cultivated without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and most of the food comes directly from our land. Solar energy and water‑saving systems support the goal of becoming 100% self‑sustained over time.

In many cases yes, as long as there is enough room in the volunteer house and both are ready to participate fully in the daily work and community life. Please mention this clearly when you apply so we can confirm availability and accommodation options.

In return for your contribution you receive a shared room, access to all common spaces, and mainly organic meals prepared together using food from the garden. You are also invited to join community activities such as pizza nights, swims, circles, and workshops when they happen during your stay.

No, you don’t. Many volunteers arrive as beginners and learn step by step by observing, asking questions, and working alongside more experienced people. Clear guidance is given for each task, and there is always space to share your own skills—whether in cooking, art, building, or organization.
