A Shared Journey
of Place and People
Fernando’s life path took him across Africa, North America, and Europe before he found an old self‑sustained farm in the hills of Alentejo that felt like the right place to root his dreams. From that moment, his personal story and AL‑MANSUR’s story became one: a gradual transformation of 12 hectares into a living community where nature, spirituality, and simple daily life come together.
Over the years he has welcomed hundreds of volunteers and guests, not just to help on the land, but to co‑create a space of healing, learning, and shared responsibility. Today, when people talk about AL‑MANSUR, they talk about Fernando too—a host, storyteller, and guardian of the place who invites everyone to slow down, reconnect, and become part of something bigger than themselves.
